OUR ORTHOPTIST
Masters of Science (Health Studies) and Bachelor of Medical Science (Orthoptics) Hons.
As an orthoptist, Carrie is an eye health professional with a unique set of skills and knowledge which are different from those of our optometrist. She describes herself as a ‘physiotherapist for the eyes’ and will often be found with a sticker on the end of her nose to keep even the most distractible of toddlers focussed! Carrie and David combined create an awesome collaborative clinical team.
Carrie brings extensive paediatric experience and expertise gained from working as an orthoptist in both the public and private health sectors in the UK and South Australia. In addition to working for Adelaide Orthoptics since it opened in 2017, she consults at Northern Eye Specialists and Flinders Medical Centre alongside many of South Australia’s leading paediatric and neuro-ophthalmologists. Carrie specialises in children’s vision assessments, including (but not limited to) squints, eye movements and double vision.
Carrie is registered with the Australian Orthoptic Board, is a members of Orthoptics Australia and has current child-safe accreditation.
